How to get to nayara

HOW TO GET HERE

From anywhere in the world you must fly to Santiago, Chile, and take a 5-hour connection flight to Isla de Pascua (Easter Island/Rapa Nui). Our staff will pick you up from Mata Veri Airport, a few minutes away from the hotel.
The only exception is coming from Tahiti (Papeete) where you can also connect to Isla de Pascua (Rapa Nui) and take a 5-hour flight.

Local festivals: The Tapati Rapa Nui

The Tapati Rapa Nui, literally translated as the Rapa Nui Week, is a cultural festival that takes place every year for ten days or two weeks in February. Inhabitants are divided into competing teams and the winning team gets to crown the Tapati Queen. Ancient games are played like haka pei, sliding down a cliff on a banana tree log, rowing across waters on a reed Tortora raft and balancing a bushel of bananas over your shoulder. Participants paint their bodies with natural pigments and get to explain the meaning of their paintings to the community.

About Weather and seasons

The Rapa Nui Island climate is subtropical, warm and humid in summer and mild in winter. Seasons are not severely marked, and the average daily temperature ranges from 23/24* C (74/75* F) in the period from January to March, to 18.5*C (65*F) in the period from July to September.
February is the warmest month, with an average of 27ºC (80.6*F). Winds blow throughout the year, and the temperature range is small due to the Pacific Ocean.
Rainfall is sporadic and brief, and spread throughout the year, reaching an annual average of 1.140mm. The average relative humidity is 76%.
VERY IMPORTANT: The island is situated in the Southern Hemisphere, where the seasons are reversed in comparison with those in Europe or North America.
