Uncover the mysteries of an enigmatic culture
as you stroll
around our village connecting with the earth
and learning
the legends and traditions of
the Rapa Nui
“We could hardly conceive how these islanders,
wholly unacquainted with any mechanical power,
could raise such stupendous figures, the British
mariner Capt. James Cook wrote in 1774.”
Paul Trachtman, Smithsonian Magazine
In 1935 the “Rapa Nui National Park” was created to protect the legacy of the Rapa Nui culture, and in 1995, the park was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
The hotel sits on a privileged place
on the island, so close to the town that
travelers can in a few minutes be inserted
into the community to experience Rapa
Nui culture first hand
After the excitement of your day’s adventure, return to the hotel to swim in the large pool and watch the most amazing sunset on the island. Read in the comfort of your terrace or just unwind overlooking majestic views of the Pacific Ocean
At night, the place takes on a magical hue as the lights reflect on the ocean waters. The stone buildings are covered by thick grass, "mauku," which the original Rapa Nui used for protection and impermeability. As the sunset falls on the island, you feel protected and at peace.
